Accept this kind offering
Oh my! Whilst I’ve been a little distracted of late by natural disasters, deaths, working out how to stop Sam escaping onto the road and Joshua about to start Prep next week, so many of you gorgeous Planetarians have been sprinkling random acts of kindness my way. Thankyou. From the bottom of my heart (and not the heart of my bottom as Mr PB would say!). You’ve really lifted my spirits when all around me seemed so grim. So in tonight’s post, I’d like to acknowledge these little gifts individually. And sometime soon, I’m going to post more about kindness, something I value greatly. So, where to start?
|
Kind Chrissy at A Country Wife awarded me a Stylish Blogger Award here. Chrissy and her husband run a busy grain and sheep farm in Western Australia. They have two delightful children, Oscar and Mathilda. Her blog is very new but she’s already attracted a sizeable following at her pretty haven in Blogland. She writes so engagingly about country life with little children. You can read more about her here.
Then the delightful Linda from Oeke Design Blog awarded me a Stylish Blogger Award here. Linda lives in Victoria with her husband and two young sons and is an accomplished graphic designer and outdoor umbrella designer and manufacturer. Her blog is a feast for the senses and I adore her use of colour and composition. She sources the most magnificent photos – the type you want to bookmark instantly.
And to top it off, bubbly Nicole at Bubby Makes Three also passed me the same award here! Nicole lives on the New South Wales Central Coast with her husband and their littlies, Fern and Elliott. She’s very crafty and generously shares her ideas as tutorial posts. She’s a busy bee, having just opened her Etsy shop here, selling children’s clothes she’s whipped up. I marvel at how she finds the time and the energy as well as being a busy mum!
As if that wasn’t enough, then gorgeous Georgie at St John’s Wood, Q passed on The Versatile Blogger Award to me here. Cripes! I’m finding this all a bit much to absorb. Thanks, Georgie. Georgie’s blog is quite new and one of my absolute favourites. Georgie lives with her husband and three delightful young girls on a farm in south-east Queensland. A journalist by trade who has been a SAHM for the past 6 years, she now uses her blog as a creative outlet which showcases her love of interior design and their plans for developing their homestead. Their house is just divinely furnished and Georgie’s fabulous style is clearly evident. You should also see their plan for their garden here – you’ll swoon!
Do have a peek at all these blogs – I’m sure you’ll enjoy them as much as I do. Now given I was recently given this award by Maureen at Daydream Living and Kate at Mamma Musing, I told you seven things about myself here. I also wrote some other things here and here if you’d like to reads some more.
Allison's little beauty of a photo |
And then finally, to wrap up this wondrous sharing of kindness, fabulous Allison at Life in a Pink Fibro included me in her list of 10 blogs she awarded her inaugural Australia Day Honours for Blogging (OAMB) here. I was so chuffed to be included in the company of such brilliant blogs as So Now What?, Life and Other Crises, Not Drowning, Mothering, Ah, The Possibilities, Diminishing Lucy, Keep Cate Busy, Big Words, Life In The Country and The Byron Life. For a newbie blogger like me, it was a great thrill and very humbling.
So, thankyou ladies for lifting my spirits in such fine fashion. I hope many more bloggers find your little havens in Blogland through this post.
Just to finish, I’d like to mention a new blog called Blog Love. Lucy has set this up as she often clicked on people's profiles, only to find they didn't have their blog listed so she couldn’t follow them back. I’ve often been frustrated at arriving at such dead ends. I bet many of you Planetarians have as well.
Basically, Lucy set up a central repository of blog URLs with a brief description of what they’re about. Pretty nifty, don’t you think?
To get involved, Lucy asks you to:
· Email her with your blog URL and a brief one line description of your blog so she can add you to the list;
· Grab a Blog Love button and put it on your sidebar of your blog;
· Write a post telling your readers about this new ‘share the blogging love idea’ to get them involved; and
· Don't forget to return to Blog Love often to check out all the new blogs listed!
Congrats to Lucy for providing this community service for us bloggers – another perfect example of a random act of kindness. My next post will focus on another serendipitous gift I've received lately.
And now to bed! Eek, bloggy rehab is not faring so well tonight…
