Good evening, my lovely Planetarians, all 213 of you! And a warm welcome to the newbies - thanks for hopping aboard this madcap planet. Wow - the response to my little giveaway has blown me away. Thankyou for taking the time to leave your kind and varied comments - I appreciate them all. Anyway, without further ado, it's time to announce the winner.
All entries were handwritten by me and triple checked (yes, it's the lawyer in me, I can't help it) for eligibility. I then cut them up and handed them to the pixies who did the ceremonial 'scrunching' of them. Quality Controller Mr PB stepped in at one point as Joshie had scrunched several together in a ball. All entries having been separated and mixed around in a bowl, they were then placed in Joshie's gumboot you can see on my header. The googly-eyed blindfold I wore on my hens' night was pulled over his eyes. Here he is before the crucial moment (Mr PB was beating a 'drumroll' at the time while India was shaking her rice-in-a-bottle).
And in the throes of picking...
the winner - Ange from Ange's Ramblings!
Well done, Ange. Ange has been following Planet Baby from very early on. And the funny part? Well, after being prepared to send my little parcel anywhere in the entire world, Ange lives in Hobart. Just like me! So now I can actually hand-deliver it to her and we can meet for the first time ☺. Hilarious. So Ange, can you please send me your contact details and we can arrange the handover of these goodies.
Now, normally this would be the end of my post. But life on Planet Baby never follows an 'ordinary' pattern. No, the pixies were having too much fun and didn't want to stop there. "We want more winners!" was their impassioned cry. So, being the festive season and because India had to have her turn, we decided to draw second and third placegetters. India assumed the blindfold and reached into the ceremonial gumboot.
The result?
Kellie Collis at Ada and Darcy, come on down! Many of you will be familiar with Kellie's gorgeous online homewares store. I have my eye on so many of her goodies, especially her Samantha Robinson ceramics. Sigh. Kellie, can you send me your address, please?
Then after 'Eeni Meeni Minie Moe' to select who drew third place, Miss India obliged again, this time picking...
Tina at Rubies' Place! Yes, the very same Tina whose pretty giveaway I received yesterday. Well done, Tina (and I have your address, thanks). I'll be sending Kellie and Tina one of these little tins each.
Unfortunately, the excitement got the better of our two prizedrawers. They were having such a grand time dispensing presents that they didn't want to stop. "More! More!" was their plaintive and united cry. Then Joshie decided he needed to draw another winner as India had picked two and he'd only picked one so that wasn't 'fair'. The end result? Two pixies crying themselves to sleep in their beds! Hmm, not *quite* the ending to my giveaway I had hoped for but we're keeping it real here on Planet Baby, my fellow Planetarians!
Now the eagle-eyed might have noticed a few yellow speckles under Kellie's entry. That, my friends, is the result of a visit from the 'glitter fairy' today. All through Planet Baby. Everywhere. Even in Sam's mouth (and no, I was not responsible for supervision at that point). Yes, the work of a Certain Mother is never done. Time to find that dustpan and broom! Good night.
Congratulations to everyone who one, what a fun draw. Enjoy meeting your one of your blog friends in person, how exciting.:) xo

ReplyDeleteOne of the more funny giveaway posts that I've read for a while Jane! Sure beats the usual random number generator pick. Hope you and yours have a lovely Christmas full of sun (I'm only a tad jealous!)
ReplyDeleteCripes! About time I commented. You have all been so generous to the winners - graciousness at its best, for which I applaud you. Yes, the blindfold had all the pixies giggling.
ReplyDeleteAnd Bron, let me know if you want me to buy one of those doves from Karen - I think it was about $10...
Hello Lilli I'm so pleased to have found your blog, too, especially with its winter wonderland setting. Such a contrast to sunshiney Hobart!
And Georgie, the pleasure has been all mine. You blog is one of my finds of the year!
Hey, Clare, I'm glad you liked the personal touch. Do you want to swap - me to spend Christmas with my host family (from my exchange student days in 1989) in Muenster and you to spend it with Mr PB and the pixies in Hobart? I still have time to fly there! J x
Funny post Jane, I love Joshie's very proud face holding the winning name - priceless, and I can just "hear" the commotion following the prizedraw and the continuing requests to keep going...you have to love their enthusiasm?
