So, PB friends, this week has been one of the more ‘challenging’ on Planet Baby so far (why do we mothers use so many euphemisms, she asks rhetorically). My days, however, have been brightened immeasurably by some blog love so graciously bestowed by some sweet fellow bloggers. Doesn’t it just make your day? Or week, in my case. As well as being tagged by lovely Amanda at Homely One, I received my first ever giveaway from darling Emily in the States. Do have a peek at her thoughtful blog, Splendid Market, when you have a moment. She sent me these fabulous post-it notes which have come in so handy already. It was a real thrill for the pixies to unwrap a parcel from the other side of the world. Thanks, Emily!
Then one of my earliest followers, Kylie at Tiges and Weince, surprised, no, flabbergasted, me by both blogging and then posting about me on Facebook. Talk about a thrill! Do have a squiz at Kylie’s sweet blog about her passions for illustration (there are links to her Etsy and Madeit sites – she’s one very talented crafter), reading, fashion, handmade goods, travelling and her cute youngsters, Hudson and (newly christened) Charlotte. Here are some of her goodies for sale.
Then another of my earliest followers, the delightful Ashleigh at Mm is for me, floored me by joining in fellow Tasmanian Veronica’s Sharing the Love meme (I love the sentiment, Veronica) and recommending my little blog to Veronica’s readers. Blush! Thanks, Ash – you are one of the sweetest and most caring bloggers I know. Ashleigh is the devoted mum to two year old little Will and the brains behind the fabulous Mm is for me children’s brand. It really stands out for its clever use of phonics – something I appreciate with a Kinder child. She produces personalised shorts, T-shirts, bodysuits, tops, hoodies, slippers, alphabet wall stickers, cushions and quilts. With Christmas coming up, I highly recommend Ashleigh’s handiwork. This is the delightfully wrapped parcel I received from her.
Oh, and finally, the warm American-expat-mum-living-in-London Laura of Happy Homemaker UK tagged me in her witty Friday Fun: Who’s Coming to Dinner? post. That just topped off my week. I promise I’ll play along this weekend, Laura – life has been a little crazy on Planet Baby this week! Her blog is quite hilarious as you see the UK through the eyes of a foreigner – read her funny posts on her ‘Nervous Nellie’ driving experiences here and here for a giggle, for instance. So thank you, ladies, for turning my ‘tricky’ (hmm, another euphemism) week around!
I love the slippers! Thanks for entering my giveaway and good luck! Have a fabulous weekend!

Ah Jane! We all love you to bits! Thank-you for your beautiful words x
ReplyDeleteI wish blogging was around when i had really littles ones, i really enjoyed my life at home with 4 under 5 but sharing it & reading other blogs would have been really great. So you take me back to all the fun & hey, nothing wrong with 'challenge' as a way to describe the thrills & danger, trials & where-on-earth-did-they-get-the-idea-to-try-that moments. I can imagine the day my toddler twins decided to coat themselves in zinc cream & leap up against red curtains & then a blue fabric upholstered lounge to leave white toddler size body prints . . . i mean, really, didn't see that coming!! That day was a challenge, alas, i had the humour to take shots of them, coated in zinc & not freak out. The other children never thought to do it, twins just have their own built in cheer leader & peer pressure, plus a boost up to reach things high up & distract mummy while the other gets into no good. Pretty sure some of those posts would have had record comments!!
ReplyDeleteSo really glad you blog Jane, really loving hearing about Tasmania & your German experiences, your sweet children & love for your husband. Above all, your appreciation & gratitude in what you have shines through. Love Posie
Good on you for turning that blog love into something even more special than it already is Jane. Hope you have a lovely weekend and a less challenging week when you get there too :)
